Professional Funeral Celebrant

MEMORIALS

A memorial is a chance to come together after a burial, cremation, or unattended farewell - to share memories, honour a life, and be with the people who also knew and loved them. Unlike a funeral, a memorial doesn’t have to happen straight away. You can hold it weeks, months, or even years later, giving yourself time to grieve, gather ideas, and plan something that feels meaningful.
Because there are no legal rules or time limits, you have complete freedom to shape the day. It could be in a private venue, your home, a favourite park, or anywhere that mattered to your loved one. You might choose a quiet gathering, or something bigger and more celebratory. It could take place during the day or in the evening, indoors or outdoors, on a special date like a birthday, anniversary, or simply a day that feels right.

A memorial can be as unique as the person you’re remembering. You might want to include their favourite music, colours, or foods. You could display photographs, keepsakes, or items that tell their story. Some people create a memory table, plant a tree, light candles, or collect donations for a charity close to their heart. Others choose to share stories, show a video tribute, or involve activities that reflect who they were.
My role is to help you bring those ideas together into a ceremony that feels authentic - something that honours your loved one while also offering comfort and connection to the people gathered. However you choose to do it, a memorial is a moment to pause, remember, and celebrate a life in a way that truly fits.
Prices
From £260 for ceremony writing and officiating.
Extra charges may apply for more detailed help in planning the day.

Additional Fees: Whilst I serve the wider West Sussex communities, including Littlehampton, Bognor Regis, Chichester, Shoreham and surrounding areas, I'm happy to travel outside of my area. For further information on travel over 35 miles from my home in Worthing, please see my Terms and Conditions.

Thoughtful

Planning Together

Whether you’ve contacted me directly or through your funeral director, I begin by listening.

In our meeting - by phone, video, or in person - I learn about your loved one’s life and the moments that matter most. I’ll share ideas and practical guidance so we can shape a ceremony that truly reflects their spirit.

Key Arrangements Made Simple

I help you settle on the essentials: a meaningful location, an appropriate date and time, and any special touches for invitations.

Together we’ll make sure guests know the tone, dress code, and ways they can contribute memories or keepsakes.

A Personal,

Approved Script

Drawing on everything we’ve discussed, I write a full ceremony script that captures your loved one’s story and the order of music, readings, and tributes.

I send this script to you in advance for review and approval, so you feel confident and at ease with every word.

A Ceremony That Flows Beautifully

On the day, I guide the gathering with warmth and care, and support anyone speaking or contributing in any way. Whether I am simply the master of ceremonies or involved in delivering some of the content, I will ensure the service follows the agreed script and runs smoothly, leaving you and your guests free to focus on remembering and celebrating a life well lived.

TESTIMONIAL

Dear Caroline, we just wanted to say that mum's funeral could not have gone any better and that was mostly down to you.

Your empathy and personality shone throughout and the service hit just the right note. So many people have been so impressed, so once again thank you for your input.

All the very best to you
