ASHES
Interment & Scattering
For some people, deciding what to do with a loved one’s ashes is an important and meaningful part of saying goodbye. Whether you choose to inter (bury) them in a special place or scatter them somewhere significant, it can be a beautiful and symbolic moment of remembrance.
There’s no rush. You can take your time to decide what feels right. Some families choose to do this soon after the cremation, while others wait weeks, months, or even years, until the time and place feel right. You might want a quiet, private moment, or a gathering of friends and family.
How my support works

Getting to Know
Your Loved One
Whether I took the funeral of your loved one or not, I will meet or speak with you before the day to hear about why the chosen place is special or what it means to you and them, and I will learn about the person you are remembering (if this is our first contact).
Together we will shape a ceremony plan and decide who may like to read, speak, or help with scattering or interring the ashes.
Choosing the
Time and Place
You may already have a date and venue in mind, in which case we plan from there.
But if not, whether you prefer to hold the ceremony soon or wait for a special date, I can guide you on ideas for locations - from gardens of remembrance to favourite outdoor spots or family gardens - so the farewell feels right for you.
Planning
the Ceremony
I can suggest readings, music, and meaningful touches, and help everyone feel comfortable taking part.
My aim is to create a simple, heartfelt occasion that reflects your wishes and your loved one’s life.
Guiding
the Day
On the day, I will welcome everyone, lead the words and moments of reflection, and quietly manage the practical details so you can focus on remembering and saying goodbye.
The ceremony can be as simple or as personal as you wish. You could include words, music, prayers, or readings. You might choose to share stories, place flowers, light candles, or create a small memorial at the spot. If it feels right, we can weave in religious or spiritual elements, or moments that reflect your loved one’s interests and personality.
Whether the ashes are interred in a cemetery, placed in a memorial garden, scattered on the water, in the countryside, or somewhere else that held meaning, my role as a funeral celebrant is to help you create a moment that feels respectful, heartfelt, and true to the person you’re remembering.

TESTIMONIAL
Just wanted to say how beautifully you held the space and how graciously the service was executed. Thank you so much, she would’ve absolutely loved it. Honestly, everyone was talking at the wake afterwards about how appropriate and fitting it was for her. Deep thanks and lots of love.
