Professional Funeral Celebrant
FUNERALS
When someone we love dies, the days that follow can feel like a blur. There’s so much to take care of, but at the heart of it all is finding the right way to say goodbye. One that feels honest and true. Sometimes that means celebrating a life that was full of joy and connection. Other times, it’s about acknowledging that the relationship was more complicated, and still finding a way to part with respect and authenticity.
My role is to work alongside you at this overwhelming time, helping to create a ceremony that reflects the person at the centre of it, as well as the people who knew and loved them, in whatever shape that love took.
We will always honour the wishes of the guest of honour if they are known, and if not, we will work it out together. There are no rules for a funeral ceremony - it can be traditional, unique, religious, or shaped around passions, hobbies, life ethos and beliefs. With a Celebrant led-funeral you have the freedom to make it whatever you want it to be.
How my support works
You may want a reflective farewell - gentle, loving, and quiet - or a vibrant celebration of life, full of colour and energy. Perhaps a little of both. There are many ways to create a ceremony that brings warmth, light, and even smiles among the tears. I'm a firm believer that we can find a place for joy while holding space for grief.
The service could be filled with music, song, tributes, memories, poetry, or favourite readings - or kept simple and focused. What matters most is telling their story: their humour, their passions, and the moments that touched others. These conversations may bring tears, laughter, or both, but they help me shape something real and personal.
I’ll always share the words with you beforehand, and we amend until it feels right. But whether full of content or kept simple, together we will create a ceremony that truly reflects your loved one in the way that feels right for you.

TESTIMONIAL
'Caroline stepped into our lives when we were bereft with grief and trying to figure out what to do and how to do it. With her calmness, empathy and understanding she brought order where there was chaos and composed and delivered the most beautiful funeral service for our loved one.
It was absolutely perfect, so much so that without exception everyone present commented on what a brilliant job she'd done. Thank you Caroline from the bottom of our hearts.'

Get In Touch
If you feel I'm the right celebrant for you and your loved one - whether you've found me online or I've been recommended by your funeral director - we’ll arrange a time to sit down and talk through your memories, thoughts, and the things that truly capture who they were, along with all the ceremony details.
We Meet Together
Our meeting usually lasts between one and two hours, although if we need longer, that's no problem at all. During this time we'll discuss how you want the ceremony to feel, elements to include such as music, readings, the eulogy and tributes and with a comprehensive set of questions, I will of course learn about your loved one - their life, their interests, their quirks, their humour.
How we Prepare
Following that, I’ll create a draft of the ceremony script for you to review. It may be that you need me in a master of ceremonies role, or to write and create the eulogy as well - or a combination of both. Whichever is best for you.
Everything I prepare is a working draft, and you’re welcome to make any changes, big or small, so that it feels just right.
On The Day
On the day of the funeral I will meet you at the venue, and lead you and your guests through the ceremony with the finalised script.
I will also be there as a support to anyone who is giving a reading, delivering a tribute or the life story, and I will be there for you all after the ceremony until you are all ready to leave.
